Cotopaxi National Park and Hacienda Cienega

n the morning, weather permitting, you will take a short drive up to the Limpiopungo Lagoon in the Cotopaxi National Park and enjoy the great view of the highest active volcano in the world. Then it's off to one of the large, colourful indigenous markets in the area. For lunch we go to the Hacienda Cienega, which already inspired Alexander von Humboldt. Soups are the speciality here. The hacienda is now a hotel and you can almost breathe in the historical events. The garden is worth seeing. If you wish, you can visit a very beautiful rose plantation afterwards - roses are an export hit of Ecuador. In the early evening you continue to Papallacta.
