Teleferico Cable Car
Today you will discover one of Quito's landmarks: the still active Pichincha volcano. Its summit dominates the landscape of Quito and is visible from several points of the city. On cold days, the summit is covered with snow. Its last eruption was in 1999, and its summit rises up to 4,776 meters above sea level.
You'll ride the TelefériQo cable car - an aerial tramway that goes up from the outskirts of the city to a plateau at 4,100 meters on the local volcano, Pichincha. Once at the top, hikes to the summit are available (full day).
This activity is not suitable for people with reduced mobility.
