Reserva Ecológica Antisana

In 1802, Alexander von Humboldt traveled along this magnificent route to the volcano Antisana: leading east over Pintag along small lakes and gorges to the huge Reserva Ecológica Antisana, a former hacienda. In huge rock walls you will see several condor nests. Making your way to the Laguna de Mica, you will see the the old, stable-like farmhouse in which Alexander von Humboldt opened his base camp during his ascent of the Antisana. From here you hike in the footsteps of Humboldt through idyllic highlands and under the snow fields of Antisana.
