Yanacocha Reserve
Yanacocha Reserve is home to one of the best preserved Andean and páramo forests just 30 minutes from Quito.
As soon as you arrive at Yanacocha, you are greeted by the beauty of the colourful mountains. In addition to the breathtaking landscape, you will discover a variety of flora on various hiking trails. In addition, feeding stations for a wide variety of bird species have been set up along the route, so there are always great photo opportunities.
You can explore the reserve on hiking trails of varying difficulty. At the end of the main trail "La Trocha Inca" you can enjoy a special natural spectacle: A large number of hummingbirds cavort in a garden.
The Jocotoco Foundation protects various ecosystems in Ecuador and on the Galapagos Islands and has set itself the goal of creating corridors between different protected areas.
