Visit to the favelas in Rio de Janeiro

It is in a neighborhood like Santa Teresa that we are going to find a fantastic and socially important art installation for the community where it is installed, the Morrinho Project: a miniature representation on the side of a favela made entirely of painted clay bricks. The project originally started as a children's game, although it was developed in a bohemian and artistic neighborhood. To get to the facility, we will walk the streets and alleys of the community, perfect introduction to the cultural importance of this area and its history of expression and resistance through art. We will pass through several spectacular views of the Guanabara Bay and the Sugar Loaf as well. In the project, we find the miniature reconstruction of 350m² of the favelas of Rio de Janeiro, with complex painted streets, 3,000 inhabitants placed one by one and even policemen. The level of detail is surprising. Throughout this walk, in the company of one of the founders of the project, we immerse ourselves in the history of this children's pastime that became the expression for a generation of the community. We finish the tour in Laranjeiras, another entrance to this favela.
